I ordered a new grille to replace the cheap plastic factory one. Here it is! It was very easy to install. You have to drill two holes and you re-use to factory mounts. The xB went in for inspection on the last day of September. I kept putting it off and finally decided to call the closest garage on the last day. They were open and inspected it right away. Not sure how much the sandpaper cost but it was cheap too. If I did it over again I would have got finer paper but this is all the had. I would recommend something greater than 300.

I took a trip to the local Honda Bike dealer today and looked at all the cool bikes. They had plenty of Shadows to go around but my favorite was the goldwing. That thing is bigger than the xB. I just got back from downtown Raleigh and had lunch at El Rodeo which is a cool little mexican place. I got the Enchilada Supreme and it was awesome. If only my stomach was as happy as my mouth was.

Yesterday I finally got a chance to wash and wax the car. I got home around 5pm and started to get everything out and ready. I set up a security system at home with a dedicated computer and a few webcams. All of the cameras detect motion and then forward them to a special gmail account. This was me leaving for the store today. I haven't registered the software yet.. opps!

I was having trouble with the stock wipers and all the snow/ice we have been getting. So I went out and bought winter wipers. I bought two but only put the one on. Now I can easily compare the stock vs. winter. As of right now I would say that the winter wiper is slightly ahead.

Yesterday I drove to Walmart to get my oil changed because I have reached the 5000 mile mark. I am a little shocked I put 5000 miles on in 4 months. When I got to Walmart there was 12 cars in front of me for the oil change and the estimate for the wait was over 2 hours. I wasn't having that so I decided to wash and debadge. Today I removed the last two badges on the car. The first one was located right beside the rear wiper blade. The second one was beside the right rear brake light. All I did was heat them up with a hair dryer and remove them with a credit card (old one). I then removed the remaining stick with tar/bug remover. Finally I washed and waxed the two areas. Can't even tell they are missing.

Today we are expecting 6 to 8 inches of snow and I have been doing laundry and shoveling. The nice thing about the XB is that since it is a box you don't get any snow on the sides or back of the car. I only have to brush off snow on the bumper, hood, and roof.

Well today should have been a snow day so I could have stayed home and played video games. Instead I had to go to work in the ice and snow. What normally is a 15 minute ride to work today took 45 minutes. On a highway that the speed limit is 65mph (actual means you are allowed to go 70mph without getting a ticket) I was traveling 30mph. Well I finally got some extra money to make the changes that I wanted. I slammed it down 3.4 inches, put Vienna Dish 19" rims on and put the custom windvisors on. What do you think? Alright.. I was thinking about trying to do something like this. I would build a very small computer and install it under the driver seat and put a touchscreen 7" monitor in the dash. I would run WinXP and be able to play cds, mp3s, dvds, mpgs, install a navigation system, browse the internet, etc. Sounds fun to me.. I wonder if I have enough money?

This past weekend I had a nice little outing to Meadville, Erie, Meadville and back. I drove Friday to Meadville to spend time with my lady (and spend time driving). Here is a great shot of some of the huge windmills near my grandma's house. I wish I had some of the statistics about the size of these things because they are huge! I have been keeping track of my gas mileage in the xB and it has been averaging 32.8 mpg in the first 1,000 miles. It is crazy I almost have 1,000 miles on the car already. The car has 4 miles on it and I will be driving it to Meadville tonight to pick up my ladyfriend. I can't wait to spend some quality time cruising around up north. Should be a good weekend.
